Chasing F#%king Squirrell's

The thoughts that weren’t part of the plan…

but somehow matter the most.

In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.
— Carl Jung

It looks something like this . . .

You ever go outside to fix one small thing…
grab a tool… adjust something real quick…

then somehow you’re 45 minutes deep—
moving stuff, cleaning things that didn’t need cleaning,
starting three projects you didn’t plan—

and you just stand there like…
“How did we get here?”

You ever take a call outside… start watering the plants…
then sprint back in, slide into your chair, unlock the computer—
and jump back in like you never left…

…without sounding out of breath?

You ever start making dinner…
just trying to keep it simple…

then you start adding things… tweaking it… tasting it…
next thing you know you’re running a full experiment—
multiple pans going, flavors dialed in—
like you’re on a cooking show…
and nobody even asked for all that?

You ever go outside to water the plants…
notice something loose…

go to the garage to grab a tool…
see something else that needs fixing…

pull your phone out to look something up…
end up checking a message… replying real quick…

then you walk back outside—
stand there for a second—

and go,
“…wait, what did I come out here for?”

…then start watering the plants again like nothing happened?
